Police arrested a registered sex offender Monday after probation officers allegedly found a cache of child pornography on a computer at his San Mateo home. Kent Ping Lin, 25, was arrested at his home in the 2600 block of Sugarloaf Drive at about 10:20 p.m., according to the San Mateo Police Department.
Probation officers found multiple images of child pornography on Lin’s computer. Police detectives joined the investigation and seized numerous electronics with stored data and media, which will be submitted for forensic analysis. Lin was serving a three-year probation sentence after pleading no contest to possession of child pornography in September 2010.
Prosecutors said the images found on his computer at the time were of girls between the ages of 7 and 10 involved in sex acts with adult men. Lin is scheduled to be arraigned in San Mateo County Superior Court today on charges of possession of child pornography and violating probation.
