A San Rafael man was assaulted and knocked unconscious in a restroom at Candlestick Park tonight in a second reported violent incident apparently linked to a preseason game, according to San Francisco police. The 26-year-old man was assaulted between 7:15 and 7:30 p.m. in an upper level restroom during a game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Oakland Raiders, Sgt. Michael Andraychak said. He was knocked unconscious, and was taken to the hospital suffering life-threatening injuries.

Police are searching for a suspect described as a Samoan/Pacific Islander male, 25-30 years old, between 6 foot 3 inches and 6 foot 5 inches tall, weighing 225 to 260 pounds. He had a goatee and long curly hair tied up in a pony tail, and was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans. The attack occurred shortly before an 8 p.m. shooting in the stadium parking lot that injured two men. One of the victims, a 24-year-old male, suffered life-threatening injuries. Andraychak said he did not know if the victims were in the parking lot due to the game, or if they were Raiders or 49ers fans. There is no suspect description available in connection with the shooting, and no one is in custody.
