A man wanted on three warrants was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence Tuesday evening after the California Highway Patrol responded to a three-car crash on U.S. Highway 101 in Santa Rosa, CHP officials said.Vicente Vasquez, 29, of Windsor, was arrested at the scene of the crash, which happened around 5:40 p.m. on southbound Highway 101 at the downtown Santa Rosa exit, CHP officials said.
Investigators believe Vasquez, who was driving a Buick Regal,caused the collision when he rear-ended another car, according to the CHP. While speaking to Vazquez about the accident, officers said he appeared intoxicated, and they performed a DUI evaluation and arrested him, CHP officials said.
Investigators learned that Vazquez is unlicensed, uninsured and had three warrants out for his arrest on charges including DUI and hit-and-run. He was booked on the outstanding warrants as well as on charges of DUI, driving without a license and having no insurance, according to the CHP.
