A jogger from San Francisco was killed in a hit-and-run Sunday evening in Forestville, according to the California Highway Patrol. The 63-year-old was apparently jogging eastbound along the south edge of River Road just west of Wilshire Drive when he was hit by a white pickup truck with an extended cab around 7 p.m., CHP officers said. Witnesses said the driver of the truck then slowed down before fleeing eastbound on River Road. When emergency crews arrived, the victim was lying in the road and was unresponsive, according to the CHP. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his name has not been released by the coroner’s office. Investigators said it is unknown whether alcohol was a factor in the fatal collision.
