* Lijia Zheng allegedly killed by Peter Shui on Albany Drive in San Jose

San Jose police have identified 33-year-old San Jose resident Lijia Zheng as the victim in the August 5 homicide that occurred in the 4200 block of Albany Drive.

On 08/05/2011, at approximately 2:36 AM, San Jose Police Officers responded to the 4200 Block of Albany Drive on a report of a stabbing.  Upon their arrival, officers contacted and arrested the suspect who was still on scene.  When officers entered the apartment to check for victims, they located Zheng, who had been stabbed multiple times.  Zheng was pronounced dead at the scene.

Preliminary investigation into the incident revealed that the suspect and victim had a dating relationship.  At some point during the night, the suspect stabbed the victim.  The exact motive behind the stabbing remains under investigation.  After stabbing the victim, the suspect dialled 9-1-1 and stated that he had killed his girlfriend.  The San Jose Police 9-1-1 Call-taker kept the suspect on the phone while officers responded to the scene.  The suspect then surrendered to officers upon their arrival a short time later.
