* Lashawna Candies Identified as Woman Killed in Oakland Shooting

The woman shot to death early this morning in Oakland has been identified as Antioch resident Lashawna Candies, police said today. Candies, 25, was in a car with another woman traveling west near the 8700 block of B street around 1:30 a.m. when at least two suspects standing near the street opened fire, police said. Both women were hit. They managed to drive another block before their car crashed. Paramedics were unable to revive Candies and she was declared dead at the scene. The other woman was taken to a local hospital, where she is listed in stable condition.
