On 08/01/2011, at approximately 8:50 PM, San Jose Police Officers responded to the Gomez Jewelry Store located in the 100 Block of South White Road on a report of an armed robbery. Upon their arrival, they determined that the victim, who was working as a clerk at the time of the crime, was stabbed multiple times. The victim was transported to Regional Medical Center with what was originally believed to be life-threatening injuries. It is now believed that the victim will survive his injuries, however he remains hospitalized.
Investigation into the incident revealed that the suspect entered the store and attacked the victim. The victim received multiple stab wounds during the attack. The suspect then stole items from the victim, including his vehicle. Robbery detectives began working the case and received a tip from a resident who wished to remain anonymous. Follow up investigation into this information led to the identification of the suspect. Officers arrested the suspect at his place of work at approximately 10:00 PM on 08/02/2011. The officers also recovered the victim’s vehicle in the area of Story Rd. and McGinness Ave. Officers later booked the suspect into the County Jail for attempted murder, armed robbery, and carjacking. The suspect remains in custody.
