* 16 Year Old Boy Shot in Critical Condition in Richmond

A 16-year-old boy is in critical condition after a shooting in Richmond Monday night, a police lieutenant said. Police responded to Kaiser Permanente Richmond Medical Center at around 11 p.m. Staff of the medical center told police they had found a semi-conscious male suffering from gunshot wounds to the back, police Lt. Shawn Pickett said. The shooting happened near Ninth Street and MacDonald Avenue and police said they believe the victim ran to the hospital and collapsed nearby.The suspect was described as a black male teen, 5 feet 8 inches, weighing 160 pounds, with dreadlocks. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, Pickett said. Pickett said it was not immediately known if the incident was gang-related.
