* Damon Soriano Identified as Fatal Shooting Victim From 84th Avenue Oakland

The victim of Thursday night’s fatal shooting in East Oakland has been identified as Damon Soriano, police said today. Soriano, a 39-year-old Oakland resident, was found unresponsive and suffering from gunshot wounds around 7:15 p.m. by officers who responded to a report of shots fired in the 900 block of 84th Avenue, according to police spokeswoman Cynthia Perkins.

Paramedics were unable to revive him, and he was declared dead at the scene. Police have said they are searching for two suspects in the shooting, but the motive remains undetermined.   • Something needs to be done about the violence in East Oakland…the sad part is you see the same stuff in every ghetto city, USA…whatever happened to protect and serve? In my opinion the reason why nothing is done because many times the authorities are often interconnected with the corruption….same scenario every ghetto city, USA….Is this justice or is it really “just us” being subjected to a substandard quality of life….RIP Brother…I pray the Chief of Police get the resources needed to clean up the city and bring you some justice.

  • My brother was a good man who didn’t deserve to die at such a young age and especially not like this. I pray the police find whoever is responsible for my brothers death.
