* San Leandro shots fired at 143rd Avenue and Orchid Drive

Published by on July 20, 2011

Detectives are searching for two men who fired shots at another man in San Leandro on Tuesday afternoon, a police lieutenant said. Police found bullet casings in the street at 143rd Avenue and Orchid Drive after receiving reports of gunfire around 2 p.m., San Leandro police Lt. Jeff Tudor said. A short time later, police located the victim, and officers determined that two men had shot at the victim’s dark-colored SUV from a light-colored two-door sedan while both parties were driving, Tudor said.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was not injured. San Leandro police are gathering information from the victim to determine the motive for the shooting, but Tudor said it does not appear to be gang-related. The suspects are described as Hispanic men in their 20s. They were last seen heading north on East 14th Street from 143rd Avenue, Tudor said.
