* Monica Rodas Murder, Oakland Police Arrest Two Alleged Suspects

Oakland police have two men in custody who are believed to be allegedly connected to the July 14th homicide of Monica Rodas who was found deceased in the 5800 block of Ivanhoe Road. Today at approximately 3:15 PM, members of the Gang Investigations Task Force located the subjects walking in the 4800 block of Macarthur Blvd.

The officers attempted to stop the men who took off running. At about 3:30 PM one of the men was located in the 4600 Block of Steele St on the campus of John Sweat School. The second man was located at 5:15 PM in the 4800 block of Macarthur in an empty, fenced in lot after a perimeter was set to contain him and a search was conducted with a canine unit. Both men are being taken to the OPD Homicide Unit for interviews with investigators.
