A man and woman in their mid 30s were found dead outside of an apartment complex in unincorporated North Richmond following a Sunday night shooting, a police lieutenant said. Police arrived in the 400 block of Bissell Avenue around 10:15 p.m. and found two victims lying on the sidewalk, Richmond police Lt. Bisa French said. They were pronounced dead at the scene. Another woman was found suffering from a gunshot wound and was taken to the hospital, where she is expected to survive, French said.
Richmond police are investigating the double homicide’s connection to a shooting that happened a couple of miles away about 30 minutes earlier, she said. Around 9:45 p.m., police responded to reports of gunfire in the 200 block of Gertrude Avenue, French said. Police found a 23-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital with injuries that are not considered life threatening, she said. No arrests have been made in either shooting and police have not released any suspect information.
