* Jorge Ramirez Medina Jr. killed in Salinas on Tahoe Drive

A 24-year-old man was killed early this morning in Salinas when a fight broke out at a party and shots were fired, police said. Jorge Ramirez Medina Jr. was found at about 1:50 a.m. in the 1700 block of Tahoe Drive suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the torso, police said.

He was taken to Natividad Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at about 2:35 a.m., according to the Monterey County coroner’s office. Police did not know today what the fight had been about but are investigating the shooting as gang related, the department said. The gunman and his friends fled the area.
