Richmond police took one person into custody this afternoon after a car chase that began in that city ended some 20 miles away in Pleasant Hill, according to authorities. Pleasant Hill police received a report at about 3:50 p.m. of an accident involving five vehicles at the intersection of Taylor Boulevard and Pleasant Hill Road, Sgt. Tim Frank said.
The suspect vehicle apparently hit four other vehicles in the middle of the intersection, Frank said. Three people were transported to a hospital, including the suspect, he said. Richmond police Lt. Bisa French said that the department is not releasing information about the chase other than that its officers were involved. Frank said that no officers struck any of the vehicles, and that the incident remains under investigation.
