Officers are searching for a man who robbed a bank at gunpoint in Walnut Creek Tuesday afternoon, police said. The man entered the Bank of the West on North California Boulevard at around 3:30 p.m. He pulled out a small hand gun and demanded money from the tellers, according to police.
Two tellers handed the man an undisclosed amount of cash and the suspect walked out. He was last seen heading south on North California Boulevard. A police dog was brought in to assist in the investigation and the K-9 traced the suspect’s scent to a parking garage at 1990 N. California Blvd., police said.
The suspect was not found and no one was injured during the incident. The suspect was described as a black man in his mid 20s, standing 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a thin build. He was wearing a black t-shirt, black jeans, and a black knit ski mask that left only his eyes and nose exposed. He was carrying a dark canvass shoulder bag.
