Oakland police have arrested a man suspected of attacking a woman as she was collecting recyclables in June. The 58-year-old woman was in the 3300 block of East 17th Street when a man “viciously” attacked her at around 6:15 a.m. on June 16, police said. She was punched and kicked several times and suffered injuries including the loss of three teeth, according to police. A witness provided police with a license plate number for the suspect’s vehicle, and an investigation led officers to identify a suspect, police said. On Thursday, police arrested 19-year-old Derrick Parks, of Oakland, on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and battery.
