A Suisun City man who suffered a head injury when he fell during a fight at a graduation party Sunday died later that day at the UC Davis Medical Center, Solano County Sheriff’s Lt. Gary Faulkner said. Roy Hellickson died at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, about 14 hours after the fight in front of a residence in the 4500 block of Green Valley Road in Suisun City, Faulkner said. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday, Faulkner said. Hellickson, 48, became upset over 20-year-old Carson Bruce’s behavior toward another person who was attending the party, Faulkner said. The two men fought, and Hellickson fell and struck his head on the ground, Faulkner said. He was taken to the NorthBay Medical Center in Fairfield then to the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. Sheriff’s deputies responded to the fight between the two men around 1:30 a.m. Sunday. Bruce, of Fairfield, was booked in Solano County Jail for assault with a deadly weapon, Faulkner said. He posted $25,000 bail and was released. Faulkner said investigators will “look at the totality of the circumstances” to determine whether Bruce will be arrested for Hellickson’s death.
