* Oakland shooting and robbery on Chestnut Street

Police are investigating an attempted robbery and shooting in West Oakland that sent one person to the hospital with gunshot wounds Sunday night, an Oakland police officer said. Two armed suspects attempted to rob two people in the 1600 block of Chestnut Street at about 10:15 p.m., Officer J. Moore said. During the attack, one of the victims was shot and both suspects fled the scene. The victim was taken to the hospital in stable condition, Moore said. Both suspects are still at large and no further information was immediately available.
