Police are investigating a shooting on the Delta de Anza Trail in Pittsburg that took place late Sunday night, East Bay Regional Park Police said. The Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office notified East Bay Regional Park Police minutes before midnight that one victim had been shot on the trail just west of Railroad Avenue, a dispatcher said.
The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment, but police could not provide details regarding the victim’s condition. This marks the second shooting in less than a week on the Delta de Anza Trail. A 20-year-old Pittsburg man was shot in the head on Wednesday night, according to Pittsburg police.
As of Friday, the man was on life support at the John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek.East Bay Regional Park Police have not arrested any suspects in connection with Sunday night’s shooting.
