The San Jose Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspects in these photos. Detective Frank Banuelos reports that on June 10, 2011 at about 11:30 am, a commercial burglary occurred at Ernie’s Liquors located at 2808 S. White Rd in San Jose.
The suspects entered the store during normal business hours. The two younger suspects allegedly distracted the clerk while the older suspect allegedly sneaked into the “employee only” back room. The primary suspect allegedly forcibly broke the lock to the storeroom door. The suspect rummaged around the storeroom, opening drawers and trying to open the safe for approximately three minutes before leaving empty handed. The incident was recorded by surveillance video cameras within the store.
On the same day at about 1 pm, the same three suspects entered the Happy Hollow Market located at 1704 Senter Rd. They again used the same M.O. While the two younger suspects distracted the clerk at the counter, the primary suspect entered the employee only back room. The primary suspect allegedly used a pry tool to gain entrance to two locked doors within the back room. The suspect opened the safe and removed the contents. The suspect placed the money into the waistband of his underwear and tucked in his shirt in and calmly walked out of the backroom, grabbed an ice cream bar from the cooler and paid for it before exiting the business.
