On Thursday, June 30th, San Jose Police arrested a suspect involved in the May 28th homicide of Vincent Tran Le. The suspect has since been in custody on a parole hold. On Thursday, July 7th, the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office filed homicide charges against the suspect. The suspect is currently in custody in the Santa Clara County Main Jail.
On Saturday, May 28th, 2011, at approximately 3:58 AM, San Jose police responded to a report of a stabbing in the 1700 Block of Schulte Drive. Upon their arrival at the scene, they located the victim with several stab wounds. The victim was transported to Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Detectives believe the stabbing came as a result of an altercation between two rival gangs. According to witnesses, the parties involved in the altercation exchanged gang-related slogans and hand gestures just prior to the fight. It is believed that the victim is affiliated with one of the gangs. The investigation is on-going.
