Published by Junior Staff Writer on July 4, 2011
The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office is searching for two men who robbed a courier in Castroville late Friday morning. The victim, a courier for A&S Metals, was on McDougall Street and had recently made a cash withdrawal from a local Rabobank at about 11:40 a.m., the sheriff’s office said.
Two men driving two different vehicles used a hammer to smash the window of her rear door and took an unknown amount of cash, along with receipts, according to the sheriff’s office. The suspects are Hispanic men between the ages of 19 and 25 years old. Deputies described the suspect vehicles involved as a 1994 Honda Accord and a 1997 Honda Civic — both apparently were stolen.
