Police are searching for two men who struck two victims with their car after attempting to rob an outlet store in Gilroy Monday night. A man used physical force to rob a victim at around 9:30 p.m. at the Gilroy Premium Outlets at 8300 Arroyo Circle.
The money belonged to one of the outlet stores, police said. A good Samaritan intervened and helped fend off the suspect, who got into a nearby car that was being driven by another man. They intentionally hit both victims with their car as they drove away, police said. Both victims were taken to a hospital for minor injuries.
Officers discovered the suspects’ car, a red 1992 Chrysler LeBaron, unoccupied nearby. The suspect who tried to rob the first victim was described as a Hispanic man in his 20s who is about 5 feet 5 inches tall with a medium build and dark complexion.
The driver of the car was described as a Hispanic man in his 20s who is about 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs approximately 200 pounds, and has a light complexion. He was wearing a black hooded sweater and black pants.
