Police arrested a woman on suspicion of drunken driving after she crashed into a guardrail in Pacifica early this morning, blocking traffic on Highway 1, police said. Claudia Interiano, 25, of Rodeo, was driving south on the highway near Reina Del Mar Avenue just before 1 a.m. when she struck the guardrail, police said. The car spun around and came to rest.
An officer found Interiano alone in the car with the engine still running on the shoulder of the highway, Pacifica police Chief Jim Saunders said. Officers determined that Interiano had allegedly been driving while drunk and placed her under arrest.
She was booked into San Mateo County Jail in Redwood City. Interiano was not injured in the crash, and no other cars appear to have been involved. One lane of Highway 1 was closed for about 45 minutes after the accident, police said.
