A Scotts Valley woman has been arrested on suspicion of stealing jewelry from her roommates’ bedrooms, according to police.
Kayla Marie Harris, 19, was accused by her two roommates on Tuesday of entering their rooms without their permission and stealing several items of jewelry worth more than $700, police said.
Harris denied any wrongdoing, but would not let officers search her room. After obtaining a search warrant, officers found some of the stolen items in Harris’ room, as well as narcotics.
She was arrested on suspicion of burglary, possession of stolen property and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and was booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail.
