Oakland police said today that a 22-year-old Oakland man has been arrested for the shooting deaths of two men at a restaurant near Jack London Square in April. Police said the suspect was arrested in Richmond but declined to provide further details, such as his name or whether there are additional suspects.
Homicide investigators will present the case to the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office for further review and possible charges, police said. Killed in the shooting at Sweet Jimmie’s at 311 Broadway at 12:42 a.m. on April 25 were 27-year-old Williams Jenkins of Oakland and 22-year-old Adam Williams of San Leandro. Police said they don’t believe the two men were the intended targets of the shooting. Four other people were wounded in the shooting but survived.
