An anonymous tip has helped investigators identify a suspect in the robbery of a Bank of America branch in Santa Rosa on Wednesday afternoon, police said. The suspect is 30-year-old Kelly Clark Keating, of Santa Rosa, and police are searching for him today, Sgt. Steve Fraga said. The caller recognized the suspect from a bank surveillance image that was released Wednesday and called police around 6:30 p.m., Fraga said. Keating is 6 feet tall and weighs 195 pounds, with brown eyes and reddish-blond hair, Fraga said.

He has previously been arrested for narcotics and property crime violations and has spent time in prison, Fraga said. In Wednesday’s robbery, the robber entered the bank at 1155 W. Steele Lane and told a teller he forgot his bank card and left, Fraga said. He returned about 20 minutes later, around 1:30 p.m., and gave a teller a note stating that he had a gun and intended to rob the bank, Fraga said. The man fled before police arrived. A gray, box-style SUV was seen speeding away from the bank parking lot just after the robbery, police said.
