San Jose police are investigating the connection between the fatal shooting of a woman Saturday night and a man who arrived at a hospital with gunshot wounds about 30 minutes later, an officer said. A 35-year-old San Jose woman died in a shooting after police found her in the driver’s seat of a black Mercedes sedan in the 4000 block of Ambler Way at about 10:30 p.m., San Jose police said.CPR was performed on the victim, but she died at the scene, he said.

It appeared that she had been shot in the car. At about 11 p.m., a 20-year-old San Jose man arrived at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center with gunshot wounds that were not life threatening, Garcia said. The man told hospital employees that he had been shot in the same area where police found the woman, he said. The man was treated and released from the hospital and is being interviewed by police, Garcia said.

It is not clear whether the two shootings are connected, but investigators are considering the possibility, he said. Officers originally responded to the area after receiving calls of an argument and then reports of multiple gunshots, Garcia said.Investigators are working to determine possible suspects or motives for the fatal shooting.
