A San Leandro woman who allegedly had too much to drink picked the wrong car to crash into Thursday night. Maureen Sirhall, 60, drove her car into a parked police patrol car and was arrested for misdemeanor suspicion of driving under the influence, San Leandro police spokesman Lt. Jeff Tudor said. A police officer was sitting in his vehicle while parked in the 1100 block of Dutton Avenue, a residential street, when he saw a car coming right at him, according to Tudor. He said the car, which Sirhall was driving, sideswiped the patrol car, ripping off its sideview mirror, flattening its left front tire and damaging part of its front end. Tudor said police estimated that Sirhall’s car was traveling between 25 and 35 miles per hour but the officer was able to avoid being injured because he braced himself for the impact and ducked. Sirhall failed a field sobriety test and was taken into custody, Tudor said.
