A Gilroy man was arrested Monday on suspicion of raping a woman and sexually abusing a runaway girl who had been living with him, police said. Officers arrested Jesse Arias, 52, for allegedly raping a woman Saturday night at his home at 231 Old Gilroy St., according to police. Police said Arias invited the victim back to his home after meeting her at a bus stop and then sexually assaulted her while she was under the influence of an intoxicant.

During a search of Arias’ home, officers allegedly discovered a runaway juvenile girl who appeared to have been living with Arias for several months, police said. Police said Arias is also suspected of sexually abusing the juvenile girl. Arias was booked into Santa Clara County Jail on charges including rape of a drugged victim, lewd acts with a child, and sending harmful matter with intent of seducing a minor.
