On 4/17/11, at approximately 6:00 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of South Capitol Avenue on a reported shooting. Officers arrived and found a 25-year-old San Jose man fatally shot; he was pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics.

The investigation revealed the suspect, identified as Mario Jesus Hernandez, 22, of San Jose, entered the residence and shot the victim. Hernandez fled prior to police arrival and remains at large.

The investigation also revealed Hernandez was associated with the residence. The relationship between the suspect and victim, and the motive, remains under investigation. A no-bail arrest warrant has been issued for Hernandez for homicide and police consider Hernandez armed and dangerous.
