A Richmond man suspected of armed robbery and theft was arrested by San Leandro police on Wednesday afternoon, police said. Officers arrested Myron Sandefur, 35, on suspicion of robbing someone at gunpoint on Tuesday in the parking lot of a shopping center. Sandefur allegedly attempted to sell the victim a television in the parking lot and then robbed the victim at gunpoint, police said. Sandefur is also suspected of swindling a victim on May 13 by selling him a piece of wood wrapped up as a television. San Leandro police provided the Richmond Police Department with a suspect and vehicle description. Based on that information, Richmond police detained Sandefur in the 3000 block of Pullman Avenue and he was later arrested by San Leandro police. “If somebody is trying to sell you an expensive item such as a flat-screen television in a parking lot it’s probably some type of scam,” San Leandro police Lt. Jeff Tudor said in a statement. “Please report these individuals to police. In this case our suspect became desperate and started using a weapon to help facilitate his crime,” Tudor said.
