A 36-year-old San Leandro man was arrested over the weekend on suspicion of attempted murder after he allegedly stabbed two people in the head during a bar fight, a police lieutenant said today. The fight broke out between suspect Alex Pasillas and the two victims, an Oakland man and a San Leandro man in their early 30s, at about 2 a.m. Sunday at Pagano’s Sports Bar at 14830 Washington Ave., Lt. Jeff Tudor said.
All three knew one another prior to the fight, he said. It was unclear what they were fighting over. Police responding to reports of the fight found blood splattered in the parking lot but could not locate any victims, Tudor said. Police dispatch called local hospital and found out that two people had arrived at San Leandro Hospital with major head lacerations. One had a laceration that started on the left side of his head and extended to the base of his head, just above the neckline.
The victims told police they had gotten in a fight with Pasillas, who was arrested at him home about an hour after the incident. The victims were treated for their injuries and released. The weapon had not been recovered today. Pasillas was scheduled to be arraigned today in Hayward Superior Court.
