* Salinas alleged gang related shooting on Roosevelt Street

A man was shot Saturday night while knocking on the door of a friend’s home in Salinas in what police say was a gang-related crime. The 18-year-old was knocking on the door of a house in the 600 block of Roosevelt Street at about 9:50 p.m. when he was shot, police said. When the door opened the residents found him shot in the torso. He was flown to a trauma center in Santa Clara County, where he was listed in serious but stable condition.
