William Belniak, a drunk driving suspect allegedly shot a Louisiana state trooper and was standing over him, and about to shoot the trooper again when he was wounded by West Baton Rouge Parish sheriff’s deputies. One deputy fired at the suspect through the windshield of his own patrol car as the other deputy got out of the car and fired.
