* Chad Robinson Arrested by Watsonville Police for Alleged Strong Arm Robbery


Police arrested a man suspected of a robbing a woman in Watsonville on Monday afternoon, police said. Chad Robinson, 24, allegedly followed two women out of Nob Hill Foods at 1912 Main St. around 2:30 p.m., according to police. Police said Robinson took a purse from one of the women by force and ran behind the shopping center. The woman was not injured. Multiple people attempted to follow the suspect but lost him as he began jumping fences, according to police.

Officers set up a perimeter and conducted a thorough search of the area. The search area was broadened as calls continued to come in reporting suspect sightings. A California Highway Patrol officer spotted Robinson on LarkinValley Road, about a mile north of Watsonville, police said. Robinson was arrested on suspicion of strong-arm robbery and booked into jail.
