Published by on May 7, 2011

Walnut Creek police arrested a woman suspected of auto burglary Friday night, police said. Officers were conducting surveillance near Vice Ultra Lounge at 1251 Arroyo Way when they contacted 29-year-old Sheila Nichole Whitson of  Antioch at around 11 p.m. The surveillance was being conducted due to numerous auto burglaries that had been occurring while patrons were inside nightclubs in the area, according to police.

Police allegedly discovered stolen property from recent auto burglaries and burglary tools on Whitson’s person and in her vehicle. Officers also found around 50 allegedly stolen purses in Whitson’s vehicle, police said. Whitson is on probation for prior theft offenses and was booked into Martinez County Jail on suspicion of possessing stolen property, possession of burglary tool, and burglary.
