Several suspects made off with about $8,000 worth of name-brand eyeglasses during a robbery at a Morgan Hill eye care provider on Thursday afternoon, the Police Department said. A man approached the counter at Your Eye’s Image, located at 419 Vineyard Town Center Way, and pulled up his shirt as if to expose a weapon to the female clerk, police said. The woman did not see anything there, and instead noticed another man sweeping a display case with $8,000 worth of eyeglasses into a bag. The clerk ran to the back of the store to tell another employee they were being robbed, and the two suspects ran to a silver Mercedes where a third suspect was waiting. A customer ran after the suspects but was not able to stop them, police said.
The suspect who might have been armed was described as an Asian man who is 5 feet 3 inches tall and 150 pounds with a shaved head and was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt. The second suspect was described as an Asian man who is 6 feet tall and 150 pounds, with dark, spiky hair. A description of his clothing was not immediately available. The store’s clerks and customer were not injured during the robbery.
