A Salinas fire captain has been arrested on suspicion of molesting a 7-year-old girl several years ago in Watsonville, police said today. Police arrested Andrew Mclaughlin, 43, on a $100,000 warrant outside his home on Twyla Lane in Campbell on Wednesday morning. Mclaughlin is accused of molesting a girl he knew about four years ago at his former home on East Lake Avenue in Watsonville, police Sgt. Saul Gonzalez said. Gonzalez said the alleged molestation occurred on only one occasion. The investigation into the case began when the family of the girl, who is now a preteen, called police on April 27, Gonzalez said. Mclaughlin was booked into Santa Cruz County Jail, but has been released on $100,000 bail.
