Rohnert Park police on Monday night arrested a man suspected of stabbing his former foster father on Saturday, a police sergeant said.Micah Hughes, 20, was arrested around 8:45 p.m. for the attempted murder of 51-year-old Mitchell Davis, Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety Sgt. Mike Bates said. Sonoma County sheriff’s deputies found the wounded Davis in a car on Santa Rosa Avenue near Todd Road in unincorporated Sonoma County around 7:15 p.m. Saturday.
He had been stabbed multiple times in his upper body and was taken to a hospital, sheriff’s Sgt. Carlos Basurto said. A knife was recovered from the car, Basurto said.Hughes was identified as the suspect,and his photo was released by the sheriff’s office.
Rohnert Park police received an anonymous tip around 8:35 p.m. Monday that Hughes had been seen wandering around Benicia Park in south Rohnert Park, Bates said.Three officers responded and found Hughes sitting on a knoll near the Boys and Girls Club of Rohnert Park on Santa Barbara Drive, Bates said. He was arrested, released to the custody of the sheriff’s office and booked into the Sonoma County Jail on $1 million bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday afternoon in Sonoma County Superior Court.
