* The Sheriff’s Activity League in Santa Cruz warns of phone scam

The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents of a phone scam by people claiming to represent the Sheriff’s Activity League.The Sheriff’s Activity League is not soliciting for donations over the phone and the callers claiming to represent the organization are accepting donations under false pretenses, sheriff’s officials said.If contacted by a solicitor, residents are urged to call the sheriff’s office at (831) 471-1121.
