Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a Sonoma State University student who was last seen in Walnut Creek more than a week ago, Walnut Creek police Detective Greg Leonard said today.James Abriel, 19, was last seen on April 21 in Walnut Creek.A friend reported that the student, who had family in Orinda and ties to Walnut Creek, was missing and possibly suicidal, Leonard said.
A handgun has gone missing from a Walnut Creek residence and police believe Abriel may have it, Leonard said. Abriel is associated with a white, four-door Toyota Camry with license plate 4GYG766. He is described as a white male with blond hair and blue eyes and is 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs 180 lbs.
Police are asking anyone who knows where Abriel is to call the Walnut Creek Police Department at (925) 935-6400 or 911. People can also call Sonoma State University police at (707) 664-4444.
