A man sleeping in an alleyway in San Francisco’s Mission District was hit in the head with a baseball bat and robbed on Monday evening, police said. The robbery was reported shortly before 7:20 p.m. Monday near the intersection of 24th and Lilac streets. The 42-year-old victim was asleep in the alley when three suspects approached and one struck him on the head with the baseball bat, police said. A second suspect took the man’s money, and all three fled on foot, according to police.
