A man was sentenced Monday to seven years in state prison for the stabbing death of another man in San Francisco in 2008, a district attorney’s office spokeswoman said today.Carlos Gordon, 40, pleaded guilty in January to voluntary manslaughter in connection with the death of 41-year-old David Martinez, spokeswoman Erica Derryck said.
Martinez was found suffering from multiple stab wounds near Market and 12th streets on May 19, 2008, and was taken to a hospital where he later died, police said.The stabbing happened during an argument between Gordon and Martinez, Derryck said.
Gordon, a San Francisco resident, was identified as the suspect in the killing and was arrested in August 2008 in the city’s Outer Parkside neighborhood. He has been in custody since then, according to Derryck.Gordon was sentenced Monday to seven years in state prison – six years for voluntary manslaughter and one for the use of a knife in the killing, Derryck said.
