A woman was arrested for driving under the influence after her car spun out and hit a tree in Union City early Saturday morning, according to police. The woman was apparently drinking and driving near Dyer Street and Alverado Niles Road at about 5 a.m. when she lost control and ran her car into a tree, police Corporal Janice Turbyfill said. She and another woman in the car were taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries, and the woman was then arrested on suspicion of DUI, Turbyfill said. Turbyfill couldn’t say where the woman was from, but said she had been visiting Union City from elsewhere in the Bay Area.
