Gilroy police have arrested one of the two men suspected of stabbing a victim and injuring two others during an armed robbery in March, police said.Eighteen-year-old Michael Velasquez was arrested Saturday at about 11 p.m. in the 1200 block Juniper Drive, police said.
Police suspect Velasquez and another man attacked three victims during a robbery in the 7100 block of Church Street on March 23. One of the victims suffered multiple stabs wounds and the other two suffered injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.The men took personal property from the victims during the attack, according to police.
Police described the other suspect as a light-skinned Hispanic man, about 18 or 19 years old, standing between 5 feet and 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a stocky or heavy build, short hair and no facial hair. He was last seen wearing light blue basketball shorts and a white shirt, police added. Police suspect that the crime was gang-related, according to the Gilroy Police Department.
