* Chase Bank in Salinas Robbed

The Salinas Police Department is investigating a bank robbery that took place in the city this afternoon. The suspect walked into the Chase Bank at 425 Main St. at about 3:45 p.m. and handed the teller a note demanding money, police said. The teller gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash, and the man left the bank. No weapon was seen, according to police. The suspect was described as a light-skinned man in his 40s with a ruddy complexion. He was wearing dark sunglasses, a gray sweatshirt, and biker-style, dark-colored chaps over light-colored jeans. The FBI was notified, and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
