Police in Concord briefly chased two men in a red Ford Thunderbird on Tuesday evening, but called off the pursuit for safety reasons, Concord police Cpl. James Carroll said today. Shortly before 7:30 p.m., officers saw two men driving recklessly in the area of Brookview Drive and Victory Lane. The officers attempted to stop the car, but the driver accelerated away, Carroll said. At one point they crashed into another vehicle, but nobody was hurt. Moments later, the officers terminated the chase for safety reasons and the Thunderbird was last seen heading west on Monument Boulevard into Pleasant Hill, Carroll said.
