* Nicholas Vargas Arrested For Alleged Murder on Cypress Avenue in San Bruno

Police in San Bruno are investigating a homicide that occurred in the city Sunday night. Officers responded to a report of an unresponsive male lying on the ground in the 400 block of Cypress Avenue at about 10:25 p.m., San Bruno police Cmdr. Noreen Hanlon said. The victim, whose name has not been released, appeared to have suffered traumatic injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said 24-year-old San Bruno resident Nicholas Vargas was arrested in connection with the murder and booked into San Mateo County Jail. Police did not release information regarding a possible motive, citing an ongoing investigation.
