The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man who robbed a Castroville restaurant at gunpoint Friday afternoon. The unidentified suspect made off with an unknown amount of cash from Don Chuy Restaurante at 10768 Merritt St., the sheriff’s office said. At about 3:20 p.m., a man wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black sunglasses, black gloves, and a black cloth over his nose and mouth entered the restaurant and pointed a handgun at an employee. He demanded that the woman give him all the money from the cash register. The employee walked around the counter, and the suspect opened the register and took the money, the sheriff’s office said. He ran from the business and onto Crane Street. The suspect was described as a Hispanic man between 25 and 30 years old. He was reportedly between 5 feet 8 inches and 6 feet tall, and weighed about 175 pounds.
